Utilizing That Outdoor Space
Owning a home is Florida is a highly desirable thing. Not only are you holding property in one of the most valuable locations in the nation, but you have the ability to utilize the exterior of your home in a way that few other locales can offer. It is well known that what the rest of the nation calls winter, we in Florida call "a slightly cooler day, I think its only 85 degrees." The agreeable climate has enabled homeowners to take full advantage of their home's exteriors.

With the temperatures residing around the high 90's year round, outdoor living has taken on a whole new identity. People spend more of their days outside, enjoying the beauty that Florida provides. With this in mind the use of the outside areas of the homes as additional rooms has become extremely popular. The fact that many of Florida's homes feature pools and manicured yards makes the transition to outdoor living that much easier. The most popular addition to "the outdoor home' is additional cooking/kitchen facilities. This type of addition easily becomes much more than an additional kitchen. It becomes the focal point of the yard and the primary social area of the home.

This kind of setup makes sense in more than one way. In realizing the full potential of your yard it encourages the family to get outside into the sun, while saving both money and the environment by skipping the use of an air conditioner. Another nice aspect of moving the social activities of the family outside is the fact that is will save wear and tear on the interior of the home. Perhaps not too much to notice immediately, but over time the difference will be evident.
