Taking Your Web Presence to the Next Level

As a Real Estate professional, you know the importance of utilizing the latest marketing strategies and technologies. If you already have a website online that highlights your areas of expertise and provides solid information that is useful to visitors, it is now time to start thinking about upping the ante on your internet presence.

In addition to making your site more search engine friendly, it is also wise to make your company known in places aside from your company website. Social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook have been around for a few years now, and are an effective way for people to reconnect with old friends, meet new people, and talk about things that interest them. Now internet savvy business people are discovering that these websites can offer valuable business networking advantages as well.

ActiveRain is a social networking site that is dedicated to the real estate industry. Here, realtors can post pictures, a biography, and talk about their skills and local market. As part of the deal, realtors can also include links to their company websites, which can bring a new stream of potential clients to their site.

These backlinks from social networking sites are not only valuable because they give users the opportunity to get to your site, but they are also seen by the search engines as validating your site's authority.

Backlinks can also be acquired by having your own blog. A blog is like an article, but with a less formal tone. Blogs are rapidly growing in popularity because they are easy to use and give readers brief, interesting tidbits about a particular topic. All you have to do as a real estate agent with a blog is to talk about things that you're interested in. Talk about the local real estate market, or about the real estate industry as a whole. You can also talk about news that affects realtors such as HUD regulations or new licensing requirements.

A blog is an excellent way for visitors to get to know you, and with  handy backlinks leading to your site, it serves as a great marketing tool as well.

In addition to blogs, you can start writing articles about real estate. Simply write about a topic that interests you, and submit it to any number of article submission sites. If your article is well written and informative, other websites will choose to display your piece on their own website. This benefits you because at the bottom of every article is a mini biography about you, the author. As part of this biography, you can include links to your website that must remain intact in order for other websites to reprint your article. Thus, your name and your URL are exposed to a whole new audience; one that you may never have been able to reach before.
